Service of production of doubled haploid lines for plant breeding.

In the Service of Production of Doubled Haploid lines for Plant Breeding we offer the possibility of producing doubled haploid pure lines in species of agronomic interest, on an on-demand basis. Doubled haploid individuals are 100% homozygous (pure lines), and they are produced in a single in vitro generation, thus greatly reducing the time and significantly lowering the costs associated to the generation of such pure lines by conventional recurrent self-fertilization and selection procedures.

Once obtained, we analyze each doubled haploid individual by flow cytometry and molecular markers, to verify their true gametophytic (haploid) origin.

We also offer the possibility to:

• Improve and/or adapt protocols for obtaining doubled haploid individuals to specific varieties/genotypes of interest.
• Develop new protocols to obtain doubled haploids in species of interest where such protocols are not yet available.
• Adapt and/or apply any other in vitro plant cell and tissue culture technique to help solving problems related to plant breeding.
